Students and professors from FTN Cacak, UNIKG visited GTECH and COMTRADE companies

Within the framework of activities related to the Tempus INCOMING project, Faculty of Technical Sciences in Cacak has organized students’ visit to two leading IT companies located in Belgrade.

The first visit was at IGT Global Solutions Corporation (former GTECH), i.e. its Belgrade branch. IGT Belgrade has over 200 employees of different IT profiles. IGT company ( is one of the global leaders in the end-to-end gaming industry with more than 13000 employees in 54 countries with yearly revenue of 2.1 billion dollars. Students were able at first hand to hear more about IGT company, the software products and services that this company develops and provides, and also about working environment and employment opportunities. They also had a chance to see the work offices and to talk with leading IGT experts.

The second visit was at Comtrade Solutions and Services  (, one of the leading IT companies in this region, with offices in 11 countries and over 1500 employees. Comtrade is a system of companies that operate in the field of software solutions, system integrations and hardware distribution. Students had a unique opportunity to learn from HR representatives about work environment, employment opportunities, students’ work practice, and Comtrade student Summer School (EdIT). Also, young IT experts from Comtrade talked about their experiences and presented most interesting software projects.

This visit was very beneficial both for students and teachers. Students could learn about skills, knowledge, technologies and work style required for working in leading software companies. Teachers also had opportunity to hear what skills and knowledge today’s IT companies need from their employees which could be a great input for adjusting IT course programmes.

The newly formed Master studies in Information Technology at Faculty of Technical Sciences in Cacak has been created based on the current and future demands of the IT industry and allows students to acquire knowledge and skills required for their future work.
