P12 National Council of HE

NCHE has a leading role in the higher education in Serbia as a professional organization representing the academic community. NHCE is the highest institution in the Republic of Serbia and according to the Law on Higher Education, is responsible for ensuring the development and improvement of the quality of higher education. NHCE defines scientific, artistic and vocational areas within the fields referred to in the Article 27 of the Law on Higher Education, based on the proposal of the University Conference of Serbia (UCS) and the Conference of high school principals.

Role in the project

 NCHE representatives travel to EU partner institutions for collecting the practices and polices on matching the labor market needs to the curriculum development. It provides consultations during development of the interdisciplinary study programmes in computing, taking into account the legal regulations in Serbia. NCHE helps during the process of accreditation of the new programmes of study, as well as in sustaining the project results. It also has a very important role in dissemination processes and participates in all dissemination workshops in Serbia. One representative from the NCHE takes active part in all planned meetings of the Project Management Board and the National Coordination Board. NCHE will be informed on the results of internal and external quality assessment for the implemented programmes.

Key person

Srdjan Stankovic

 Srdjan Stankovic is a Professor of Automatic Control and Head of the Department for Signals and Systems at the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade. He held visiting positions at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and at the Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California, U.S.A. He published numerous scientific papers from diverse fields. He was the leader of numerous research projects for government and industry. He was the coordinator of two Tempus projects. He is the President of the Serbian Society for Electronics, Communications, Computers, Control and Nuclear Technology. He is the President of the National Council for Higher Education of the Republic of Serbia.
